I came across this photo of Parke this afternoon when I was looking through some old photos. She is on a SJ train near Stockholm from July 2006. We lived in Sweden from 2005-2007 and spent lots of time on trains traveling to different places in Europe. Great memories.
The People’s Square metro stop is huge, with 18 different exits. I think I walked for a good 15 minutes inside the stop to get to the train I needed.
Thanksgiving isn’t just about turkey. It is the time of the year when the train sets come out. This one is HO scale. The N scale comes out on Thursday.
Our train set only comes out during the holidays. We have made a few upgrades do far this weekend. Things are looking good.
After a lovely weekend in Chicago, the boys are relaxing on the train back to Ann Arbor.
We’ve been a busy bunch over our winter vacation- the whole family has been working hard on the train set, as well as other projects. Eli and Ryan assembled the Lego Fallingwater that Ryan got for Christmas. Eli also completed his first model plane, with help from Blue.
We found the model railroad club in Somerset and spent a few hours exploring the different scenes and learning about the local railroad history. The kids were all captivated.
Oliver loved riding the train at Old Kennywood.
I think Parke had more fun than the boys did at the model railroad show.
Blueberry is getting the Western Maryland Railroad going again with the kids.
